“The circle as a mandala is the psychological expression of the totality of the self…the pictures are in all essential, genuine creations of the unconscious.” - C.G. Jung, CW9, para 542
Mai Breech, Psy.D.
Dr. Mai Breech is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of California.
Dr. Breech has had a long history working with orphans and foster children. In 2007, she founded the Children’s Art Village, a grassroots non-profit organization that provides art and music to children in Ghana, India, and Nepal. Through this initiative, orphaned children can express their creative selves without relying on language but instead utilizing their creativity. Over the years, over 3,000 children have been involved with the Children’s Art Village.
Her experience with abandoned children translated to her clinical work with foster children who have aged out of the care system. In addition to teaching, Dr. Breech has a private practice in West Los Angeles. She works with children, adolescents, and adults who have unresolved childhood wounds that continue to affect their relationships with others and overall personal well-being. Dr. Breech’s integrative practice incorporates somatic work, art, sand play, active imagination, and dream interpretation. For the past 18 years, Dr. Breech has been a mandala artist.
